As part of the Devonport Food and Wine Festival, Devonport City Council and valued partners will be running a pop up Soup Street Kitchen in the Edward Street Carpark, happening each week day in the month of October from 12.00pm to 2.00pm.
Our Mission will be to feed people in need. Soup Street Kitchen will provide healthy and nutritious meals that are made and donated by project partners with local produce.
Our Vision will be to make sure that no one goes hungry and that no food is wasted in our community and we will give the opportunity to those who can afford to give to those who can’t. It will inform the public of the needs of the hungry and make them aware of what is available in our community along with knowledge of food scarcity within our city.
We will improve people’s quality of life with daily healthy meals and friendship and generate community good will.
Proceeds from donations will be evenly distributed to emergency food providers partnering on this project.
Celebrity chef Ben Milbourne will be making an appearance to help feed the people in need. Along with local schools such as Drysdale Tas Tafe, Don College and Reece High School.
