Are you Devonport's King or Queen of Pavlova?

Devonport will crown its first King or Queen of Pavlova at the inaugural Spring Festival on Sunday 21 October.
The Festival, part of the month-long Devonport Food and Wine, aims to celebrate the local food industry and culture of the region. It will be held at Roundhouse Park from midday until 4 pm.
Finding the city’s best pav will be just one of the attractions of the free festival. 
Pavlovas are to be submitted in person to the judging area by 2 pm on the day.
While there are no restrictions on the recipe or ingredients, all must be homemade and creamed/decorated.
They will be scored by the judges based on presentation, taste, fluffiness and creativity.
The registration form, must be submitted to Council by close of business on Wednesday 17 October
A range of food and beverage vendors and food trucks will also fill the park with activities including traditional fair games, face painting and a petting zoo with farm animals.

Spirits at The Wesley promises an unforgettable sensory experience. A night of indulgence, entertainment, and a space to feed your inner glutton!

The event will be hosted at the old church on Steele Street, now home to the new Devonport venue, The Wesley. Dating back to 1889, this beautiful building became the Devonport Uniting Church in 1932. Now it continues the legacy of bringing community together as the new function space for the Cultivate Group.

Devonport Food and Wine 2018 celebrates community

This year, Devonport Food and Wine is celebrating food and community in the month-long event.

The festivities include over 45 food and wine events throughout October, in more than 20 venues in and around Devonport. 

Festival highlights will include foodie walking tours, tastings, barbecues, school holiday events and special sessions for Seniors’ Week.

 Festival Coordinator JoHanna Robertson said the Devonport Food and Wine Festival provided an opportunity for locals and visitors to discover something new and to learn more about growing, cooking and enjoying food.

 “There is something for all ages and all wages,’’ Ms Robertson said.

 “There are a variety of events on offer from high-end dining experiences, opportunities to grow and cook your own food, family-friendly outdoor events and behind the scenes tours

 “We have quite a few new venues involved this year.  It will be a real showcase of different food experiences available in our region.”
